About Us
She has held positions as Director of Medical Services at New York Presbyterian Lawrence Group and has over 15 years -experience in the Emergency Room from Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City to St. Mary’s in Passaic, NJ. She obtained her medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson now Rutgers Medical in New Jersey. She also completed her medical internship and training at the State University of New York Downstate ( SUNY) in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and was give the title of Chief of the Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in her final year of training. At SUNY Downstate she had the opportunity to manage a multiplicity of medical problems affecting African Americans, Caribbean and international patients. She has also worked with the active military and their family to address the specific medical and mental needs of this population. She is proud to open her new practice Alafia Medical Associates.
She believes that a holistic approach to medical management is needed. Currently the practice is purely Telemedicine. In person appointments will be available soon!
